Shooting Kabul Synopsis

Plot
Fadi was around 11 or 12 years old when he was told that he would be going to school in California instead of where all of his friends and his six year old little sister. Fadi, Noor, Habib, Zafoona, and Mariam were all gathered around the end of a little corner to leave Afghanistan illegally, when they all heard a loud truck engine. Within seconds dozens of people started coming out and started scrambling onto the large truck. Habib, Fadi's father was rushing everyone so the Nurzai family could get a spot on the truck. A man ran into Mariam and knocked her down. Throughout the struggle Mariam dropped her beloved doll Gulmina. Fadi yelled "Hurry up!". He pulled on her wrist, she fell and was stuck in Kabul, Afghanistan while Fadi had to withstand the guilt of having to here her fear-full screams all the way to California.
Fadi and his family had trouble adapting to the U.S way of life. Noor found a job at McDonalds, and Habib is working as a taxi driver. At school Fadi is being bullied because on top of all of his bad luck this is all happening during the events of September Eleventh, 2001. He was being called a terrorist and that he should go kill himself. Finally Fadi's big chance to find his sister after 5 weeks, he enters a nation-wide photo contest and the Grand Prize is a trip to India (right next to Afghanistan). Fadi took a lot of pictures and once he turned in the picture and got the results back he sees he only got in the top fifty! Once again his chance to save Mariam ruined. Will Fadi find another way to save Mariam?
